Insurance Billing Policy
Here at the Seattle Athletic Club Downtown we do not do any insurance billing. Our staff and facilities are not set up to meet the big demands of working with insurance companies.

Each insurance company has a different set of benefits and requirements. Some companies will only cover people inside of their network of providers or “preferred providers”. Other companies will allow out of network providers to provide massage at a higher cost/co-pay for the subscriber. Usually in this case the insured will have to also submit chart notes and or the license number or tax ID number of the licensed massage practitioner. In all cases, a receipt will also be needed to submit to the insurance company to show proof of service and cost.

If you have been in an auto accident and are receiving injury treatment or care as a result of the incident, you usually are able to see any person you’d like. In cases such as these, we can also be of assistance. Make the appropriate arrangements with your LMP at the start of your appointment so that notes can be taken and all can be covered.

Here at the club, since we do not keep chart notes on every client - it can be a challenge for us to pull many records on specific appointments. What we can provide is a receipt of service and if you are able to plan ahead with your practitioner, some chart notes if they are needed. If you have an insurance plan that covers massage outside of the club and you are in need of a referral, we will do our best to find someone for you. You can always ask your practitioner or email Massage Director Jessie Jo Egersett and we will do our best to get you the massage you need!
